Issues Impacting our Ecosystems
Earlier this trimester, 3rd graders spent a handful of lessons learning about issues that currently impact two specific ecosystems: the rainforest and the arctic tundra. Through different books and video clips, students learned about deforestation and global warming, in addition to their impact on the environment. After comparing both of these issues, students selected one of them to create an independent project using an app called PicCollage. These lessons incorporated various technology skills, in addition to 3rd grade science, writing, and research standards.

Let's "Chat" about Internet Safety - 2nd Trimester
Third grade students have spent a great deal of time with internet safety this trimester. Our lessons have included the difference between personal and private information, the power of words online (cyberbullying), and what being responsible looks like in regards to various situations (self, family/friends, and community). Teams decided which lesson they wanted to focus on and demonstrate some of the knowledge they learned using an app called Chatterpix.
